Create a document

Start from a template, describe what you need, upload a file or build from blank, then choose who signs and send.

Open New document (Send in the institutions app). The page has three parts: start the document, check its details, and choose who signs.

1. Start your document

Pick one of four ways to begin.

WayWhat it does
TemplateA ready-made form: Bonafide certificate, Rent agreement (landlord and tenant) or Event waiver.
Describe itType what you need in a sentence and Bloom drafts a form. Beta This is simulated: it matches keywords such as rent, bonafide or waiver, and otherwise makes a plain form from your words.
Upload a filePick a file and Bloom turns it into an editable form. This is simulated: it creates a form named after the file, with a body and a date field.
BlankAn empty form where you add your own fields.

2. Check the details

  • Give the document a Title (up to 140 characters).
  • Fill in the fields. Fields marked required must be filled before you can send.
  • Use Add a field to add your own, and Remove field to take one out. A field can be short text, long text, a number or a date.

3. Who signs?

Type at least three letters of a person's name or email in Find a person, and choose them from the list. They need to have a Bloom account already. You can add up to 10 signers, each only once, and you can't add yourself.

Each signer has a role, such as Landlord or Tenant. Templates suggest the roles; you can change them.

With two or more signers, choose the Signing order:

  • Any order: everyone can sign right away.
  • One after another: each person can only sign once the one before them has. Use the arrows next to each signer to change the order.

Send it

The Cost panel shows how many signatures you are requesting and what they cost. Each requested signature costs one credit; see Credits. Click Send for N credits.

You land on the document's page, where the signers have it in their inbox. If you don't have enough credits, the panel says how many you need.
