Sign a document
Review it, confirm it's you with a one-time code or a face scan, and get a signing certificate.
When someone sends you a document, it appears in your Inbox (To sign in the institutions app), with Needs your signature beside it. Open it and click Review and sign.
Review
Read the contents. If you are one of several signers, it says which one you are. Click Proceed to sign, or Decline if you won't sign. Declining needs a reason and closes the document for everyone.
Agree
Tick the box to say you've read the document and agree to sign it electronically, in your role.
Confirm it's you
Choose One-time code or Face scan. Every signature needs its own check; nothing is remembered from last time.
Confirm and sign
Once the check is done and the box is ticked, click Confirm and sign.
One-time code
Click Send me a code. Bloom sends no real text message, so after a moment the code appears on a Simulated phone panel on the page. Type the 6 digits and sign.
- The code is valid for 5 minutes.
- You have 3 tries. After 3 wrong codes, start again for a fresh one.
- You can ask for a new code after 20 seconds. A new code replaces the old one.
Face scan
Click Start face scan. A short animation runs while Bloom pretends to check your face, then shows Face matched. No camera is used.
Your signing certificate
After you sign, you see a Signing certificate (simulated):
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Signature reference | A reference for this signature, starting BTS-. |
| Signed by | Your name. |
| Issued by | Bloom Test CA (simulated). |
| Certificate serial | A number unique to this signature. |
| Certificate valid until | The certificate lasts 30 minutes, as short-lived signing certificates do. The signature stays checkable after it. |
| Signed fingerprint | A fingerprint of what you signed: the document, you, your role and the time. |
If you were the last signer, the document is now complete. Use View document or View verification page to see the result.
Set your preferred method
In Settings, under Identity and security, choose which method Bloom suggests first. You can still switch on the signing page.
